![]() ![]() The launch of imperator rome and 20 years of playing pc games has made me sceptical at preordering games. ![]() Or if i should wait 1-2 years till updates/expansions or a discount. I`m waiting for the reviews to pop up to know wether Planetfall is ready to be bought at launch. Originally posted by Autism Simulator:I have not preordered Planetfall yet. I have about 2500 hours in AoW3 and probably the same amount i the previous games too, so i do have some idea what I am talking about. You can also wait for my lengthy review where i intend to go in depth into the game, what works, what doesn't, what's changed and what needs to change. So, yes you could wait for reviews, and then apply a large degree of scepticism and use that to inform your choice, but you can also check out the videos. Going purely by the reviews would have saved you from playing Imperator, but also made you lose out on Battletech, which is a pretty fun game. Sometimes the 2 overlap, as we saw in the reviews for Imperator, which all pointed towards a largely empty feeling, bring game that seemed designed to be filled in later with dlc.Īlso, there were quite a few reviews bashing Battletech, because of their being a Muslim doctor and more than one gender pronoun iirc (I may be getting the details wrong.) Not entirely pointless, but not accurate at all, unless you have the stomach to read through several dozen reviews (including Steam) to discover any common threads of discontent that merit actual attention, instead of what often seems to be the case where people mark down a game based on associations with a company, in this case paradox being the publisher, as opposed to whether or not the game in question is actually nay good. My point being that relying on reviews to tell you if the game is ready or not is a very inaccurate method. ![]() There are a number of let's plays and streams on the internet which give you a good overview of how the game plays.Īrguably a better analysis will be formed by going through those as opposed to reading a review, and I say that as someone who actually prefers reading. ![]()
